Nut Cuty Zine

So the guys over at Nut City released this zine a little while back now and I feel it hasn't had the exposure it deserves.

I am someone that loves paper publications of graffiti and the whole culture behind it, its more real!
When I received this zine in the post I was really happy with what I was looking at. To start with each cover is hand drawn and numbered. It is an A5 size zine with 32 pages of photos and sketches, it contains black & white photos and also colour.

The beauty of Nut City for me is the simplicity, they haven't tried to cram in too much it looks to me as if they have very carefully choose the very best of their work to publish. It feels as if its a sneak peak into the life they lead and it leaves you wanting to see what's next.

Lucky for those of you that have brought it, It looks as if they will be releasing another issue in the future so keep your eyes peeled and head over to http://nutcity.tumblr.com/

The zine is fresh out of Sheffield and was a collaboration between Elliot Holbrow, Joel Barton and Nazusk.

I recommend anyone who is into their black & white photography, graffiti and illustration to get this zine while it is still available. Any paper publication collector will regret not getting this copy while its there. This is definitely one to have in your collection...

VNA 23

So the good people over at VNA magazine were kind enough to send us over a copy of VNA issue 23 for us to review!

This review is pretty late I must admit but as they say better late than never... so here it is!

The first ever issue I picked up of VNA magazine was issue 9 back in 2009 which featured Meggs , Sickboy , Ron English and many others. Since then VNA has increased its size and also has a hell of a lot more content.  It seems to me that this magazine's focus is to showcase as much high quality work as possible for our viewing pleasure.

I say this because in my personal opinion I feel that the Uk's Graffiti magazine culture has gone way down hill, there is not enough magazines exporting what the UK has to offer. I feel that of the ones that are widely available it seems that a few of them are in it for pure profit and self promotion but that isn't the case for VNA.

Issue 23 features the likes of Hedof, Moose & Yeti, Aeon ,Vibes and many more...It is full of full colour productions, Insane characters, digital illustrations, back to back interviews, photos from various cities including London and San Diego.

The highlight of this issue for me has to be the vibes article, whether you love him or hate him you can not fail to recognise that the man has crazy skills. His pieces are always on point and this issue showcases what he has to offer well.

The only thing that is missing for me is the darker side of graffiti, We would love to see that in future issues.

If you are into your more arty side of graff, then make sure to get this issue while it is still available here http://verynearlyalmost.com/  ...

Also check out the website for issue 24 as that is now available to buy too.

I fell asleep and woke up with a beard...

I regularly make a point to show that most nearly all of the pieces we produce are with racked paint, this isn't because we think it makes us special or whatever. it is to show those people that if you want to paint you can always do it! where there is a will there is a way, you just have to make sacrifices...

Personally if I didn't rack I wouldn't be able to paint, some times we have to use the shittest paint but we make it work.

Paint till your fingers fall off!

shout outs to all the crews up and down the country...

free rair!

Photos of Ruth walker, taken by photographer Dean Schott.

I found these online with an SMT piece in the background, even though the piece isn't in the best condition I thought the pictures were sick!

Click the links for the photos and you will see how detailed they really are... my versions are really bad until I get the originals.

curiosity killed the cat or someone did!

A fox didn't kill it, a car didn't hit it... I am pretty certain some sick fuck killed this cat.
It was beheaded and cleanly sliced down the middle. when something is beheaded blood sprays everywhere, notice how there is not one drop of blood on the floor or anywhere around it. If a fox had eaten it there would be no meat left yet all the organs are left intact. The head was no where to be found...

dont become what you always hated...

These pictures don't do the pieces justice, there is a lot more detail than you can see here...

Growing old disgracefully
